Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP) – The National women’s council has been key in the effective implementation of UWEP across the country.  Women council leaders at all levels engage in mobilizing women about the programmes and  groups formation, the Women council chairpersons at the Sub County and District are part of the beneficiary selection and vetting committee that scrutinizes women groups to access funding under UWEP and without their approval a group cannot be approved to benefit and women council leaders follow up through closely monitoring beneficiary groups to ensure they implement the projects and payback so as other women groups can benefit


Peer to Peer mentorship of UWEP Groups – The council with the aim of information/experience sharing among UWEP beneficiary women groups especially the successful and struggling enterprises. This was carried out in fifteen (15) districts in the different regions. Women shared ideas around good business management practices, group dynamics, and record keeping among others in peer to peer kind of learning guided by technical personal. In so doing members were able to learn how to overcome different challenges, increase on performance and productivity

Entrepreneurship /skills development training – Over the time women have benefited from the different targeted skills training programs of the women’s council. These trainings include entrepreneurship, innovativeness/value addition and marketing among others. This was followed with distribution of 100 hand hoes and 20 spray pumps among women as agricultural inputs to boost their productivity
